The purpose of local author Elmer Hall's Diary of A Mill Town: Recollections of the Bungalows and Sparrows Point, Maryland is to preserve the memory of a place that is gone but not forgotten - a small community that once flourished in the shadow of a giant steel mill and was subsequently consumed by its expansion.
Gone are the churches and businesses, the schools and homes, the playgrounds and the ball fields. Silent now for thirty years, its residents long ago uprooted and scattered with the wind.
Gone is nearly every trace of a place we once called home. Gone... except for some wonderful memories and some old photographs. These we leave for future generations to share.
Diary of A Mill Town: Recollections of the Bungalows and Sparrows Point by Elmer J. Hall is an 8-1/2" x 11", 120-page, softcover book with pages of photographs and recollections of this lost, local area.
