Chamilia's fine charm jewelry debuts at Greetings & Readings
Design is different here
For Chamilia, the principle is simple: design is different here. Chamilia was founded in 2002 on the premise of putting design into the hands of the customer. Killian, a former designer with fashion icon Polo, wanted this brand to be personalized to allow women to change and customize it to fit the mood, moment or occasion, like a chameleon that changes in its environment.
They launched Chamilia with a line of handcrafted beads of Italian Murano glass, colored stones, 14k gold and sterling silver that pair with beautifully designed companion bracelets, bangles and necklaces. The result is a fresh, contemporary twist on the richly remembered charm bracelet.
Today, Chamilia is the "it" brand in the customized jewelry category. The company has a growing collection of 600+ beads and a successful Disney® partnership with an exclusive collection of authentic Disney beads not available anywhere else.
The family-owned, US-based company supports communities and causes across the globe by introducing limited edition beads and donating a portion of the proceeds to support causes like Breast Cancer, Autism and world peace programs.
Meet the designer
Chamilia comes from the belief that each one of us has dimensions of our character and parts of our lives that hold real meaning. Killian Rieder (shown above) was inspired to create a way for herself, and for all women, to hold onto friends, family, memories, and experiences in a symbolic and meaningful way.
Killian's vision was to create a contemporary twist on the classic charm bracelet, where a woman could be the designer of her own bracelet. "The wonderful beauty of the beads is that they can be combined on a bracelet to create thousands of different looks as unique as the woman who wears it." In just five years, the Chamilia collection has grown to over 600 beads. Today, Killian creates hundreds of new bead designs, including ideas that come from customers, each one hand-designed like her very first bead.
Killian Rieder is a graduate of the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology, and worked for fashion icons like Ralph Lauren Polo. "The best part of working at Chamilia is to see other people's creations and know that the beauty of the design comes not just from the beads, but from the meaning associated with them. Every bracelet tells a story about the person who's wearing it."
This is Chamilia. Visit Greetings & Readings in the Hunt Valley Towne Centre to discover it all.
