David Simpson Gallery
The David Simpson Gallery at Greetings & Readings will feature its second art exhibition from January 10 through February 19, 2012.

Clouds Over Maryland FieldsLocal artist Murray Taylor will provide the artwork, and an opening reception will be held on Thursday, January 12 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Murray Taylor is an oil painter who has been making expressive contemporary landscape paintings for more than 20 years. He has shown his work in New York, St. Paul, Martha's Vineyard, Baltimore and Washington D.C. He has been juried into numerous group shows collecting awards, including Best of Show, along the way.

He studied at The Maryland Institute College of Art, Towson University and University of California Santa Barbara, eventually graduating Cum Laude in fine art from Frostburg State University and being selected Outstanding Senior of the Year.

Murray was selected by the Spanish artist Jose Rodeiro to assist him in painting a large mural for the city of Tampa, Florida. His paintings were chosen to be featured in the movie Random Habits in which the lead character is a painter. Murray has traveled extensively, painting throughout the United States and in France, Mexico, Costa Rica, Bermuda, the Caribbean, Denmark, Nepal and Thailand. In the 1990s, he had a studio at School 33, and for the past 12 years, he has kept a studio in northern Baltimore County.

All of the artwork displayed is for sale. If you wish to purchase a particular piece, please see a salesperson in Customer Service, upstairs at Greetings & Readings. Because the work displayed is part of an ongoing exhibition, the work may not be removed from the gallery until the end of the show. At that time, you may return to pick up your artwork.

For more information about the gallery and how to acquire the artwork on display, visit the David Simpson Gallery page.
