Super Bowl-winning, former Ravens Head Coach Brian Billick will visit fans and readers for a book signing at Greetings & Readings. Due to contractual obligations and time constraints, Billick will not be able to sign any other merchandise during the event.  The in-store event has been postponed due to the weather.

In More Than a Game: The Glorious Present and Uncertain Future of the NFL, Brian Billick, writing with Michael MacCambridge, takes a step back from his nine years as head coach of the Baltimore Ravens to take a yearlong football odyssey, examining the sport he loves from new perspectives. Along the way, he speaks candidly with today’s leading NFL figures about the issues and challenges confronting the sport today and into the future. Offering provocative and at times conflicting perspectives from owners, general managers, coaches, and players, the book goes deep inside the locker rooms, film rooms, and boardrooms to show how the teams compete 24/7, 365 days a year.

While the issues facing professional football are many, More Than A Game explains that none is more vital to the league’s future than the fate of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. How and when the owners and players resolve the future revenue distribution will not only determine each entity’s potential share, but whether the fifteen-plus year reign of competitive balance, brought about by the sanest economic structure in big-time sports, will come to an end. If the NFL goes into 2010 without a deal, it won’t merely pave the way for a possible lockout in 2011; it may make 2009 the last season of football as we know it. Filled with Brian Billick’s own experiences within the league including his tenure with and departure from the Ravens, More Than a Game offers a fascinating look inside America’s #1 sport, as well as a vivid sense of the coach who remains one of the game’s most respected and influential minds.

More Than A GameAuthor Brian Billick spent nine seasons as the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, where he led the team to a 34-7 victory over the New York Giants in Super Bowl XXXV. Prior to coaching the Ravens, he served as the offensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings. In 2008, he joined Fox as a commentator and the NFL Network as a contributor. He lives in Maryland with his wife and family.

Michael MacCambridge, with whom Brian Billick wrote the book, is the author of the award-winning America’s Game: The Epic Story of How Pro Football Captured A Nation and The Franchise: A History of Sports Illustrated Magazine. He has also served as the editor of the New York Times bestseller ESPN Sports Century and the ESPN College Football Encyclopedia.

Order More Than A Game before Brian Billick's appearance and request a personalized, autographed copy from the event at no extra charge!

While we wait to see when Brian Billick will be able to return, please note the pre-orders taken for his 12/19 appearance (cancelled due to weather) were personalized and signed by Mr. Billick. Brian also signed the remaining books in stock, but those have sold out. New shipments are arriving to keep the popular book in stock, but those cannot be signed until Brian returns in the new year.
